Feel like you need to crack your back, or have a stiff or painful lower back, tight hamstrings, or sciatica down your leg?
Here’s a quick stretch that might be able to help!
Low back pain is a common complaint that refers to pain or discomfort in the lower back region, which includes the lumbar spine, the pelvis, and the buttocks. It is a leading cause of disability worldwide and can affect people of all ages.
Low back pain can be caused by a variety of factors, including muscle strain, poor posture, obesity, arthritis, and herniated discs. It can also be a result of underlying medical conditions, such as kidney infections or osteoporosis. Symptoms of low back pain can range from mild to severe and may include discomfort, stiffness, muscle spasms, and radiating pain down the legs.
We like to give this low back stretch to people with:
1.) Feeling of “tightness” in the low back
2.) Feeling of “stiffness” with rotation
3.) Who don’t have numbness down their leg
Pushing gently into spinal rotation can be helpful during an acute bout of lower back pain, and in some cases you might even crack your own back with this stretch!
